CW Design: Fashion with Character

There are clothes that simply work. And then there are those where you immediately realize someone had a vision. At CW Design, individuality is an integral part of the design process.

Behind the Zurich-based label CW Design is Cornelia Weckherlin , who translates her own creative vision into fashion. Her collections range from understated elegance to deliberate statements; feminine, confident, and often featuring a detail that only becomes apparent upon closer inspection. In addition to standard-size creations, CW Design also offers select pieces made to measure.

Pieces made to be worn your way

What we particularly like about it: CW Design doesn't try to define a specific type of woman. Rather, it gives the impression that the clothing should adapt to the personality of the wearer; and not the other way around.

A good example of this is the label's silk and velvet pajamas . They take the classic pajama silhouette and bring it from the bedroom directly into everyday life and evenings: with flowing silk, bold colors, prints, pleats, special buttons, or striking details. CW Design itself describes the silk pajama as a new interpretation of the "little black dress," a notion we like.

With a pair of heels, it transforms into an evening look. With loafers or flat shoes, the same two-piece outfit suddenly appears relaxed. It is precisely this versatility that makes a garment interesting: when it is not intended for a single occasion, but can become part of one's wardrobe.

Less anonymous, more personal

In a fashion world where so much is available within seconds, a personal approach almost feels unusual again.

At CW Design, a bespoke garment begins with consultation and measurements. The outfit is then produced before receiving its final touches during a fitting in Zurich. The label typically allows four to six weeks for completion.

It is a slower process, but perhaps that is precisely where its special value lies today.

Instead of countless items in the wardrobe, it's about clothes that have been carefully chosen. That fit. That have a story. And that you still enjoy wearing even after several seasons.
